Summary/Abstract: This article will try to answer the question why did democracy in Weimar Germany fail and why did the National Socialists and Hitler come to power in 1933? The main task of the paper is to study the consequences for the social and political life in the country and answer the question whether the crisis was the catalyst that accelerated the growth of the problems created after WWI which in turn paved the way for the coming of power of Hitler and the Nazis
