Summary/Abstract: The author reviews literature relating to the language of young people. She selects information which relate to distinctive features of this language variety. She also deliberates on different functions of slang used by the youth, making the lingo attractive and useful for contemporary young people. Utilizing examples from the living language taken from the Internet, she shows the truthfulness of the preceding findings.
