Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the analysis and comparison of the anthems of Polandand Bulgaria, as well as two children‘s poems. The analysis is aimed at examining the concept of HOMELAND in the given works and how it is understood by native speakers of both languages. The works are also considered in their historical context, with attention to the political and social situation of the peoples at that time. The differences in the texts are emphasized, both regarding their structure, and regarding the linguistic devices and the influence they have in society.
