Summary/Abstract: Soils in Ciechocinek were tested. Research points have been designated in the city and its surroundings. The basic physical and chemical properties of soils were examined, including soil salinity. After the conducted research, it can be concluded that saline soils are located only in the area limited by brine graduation towers No. I, II, III and in the close zone surrounding the graduation towers. Saline soil covers an area of 28 hectares, and the measured value was 2.35 [g (NaCl) ∙ dm−3] of soil, which, after taking into account the bulk density of 1.86 kg ∙ dm−3 of soil, is approximately 0.437% NaCl. According to FAO recommendations, this area can be classified as medium-saline soil, salinity class 2. The remaining soils, apart from brine graduation towers, did not show significant salinity.
