Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to discuss the process of granting fi nancial assistance to Ukraine by the IMF during the armed confl ict with Russia. The research problem concerns whether the IMF reacted adequately, taking into account specifi c factual circumstances and legal conditions, providing support in the form of numerous aid packages co-fi nancing the implementation of state functions. The adopted research hypothesis assumes that the IMF fi nancial assistance has had a positive impact on the maintenance of Ukrainian statehood, the economy and enabled the introduction of partial structural reforms. The hypothesis was verifi ed using the following research methods: content analysis, systemic, institutional-legal and historical. On this basis, conclusions were formulated that the IMF fi nancial assistance protected Ukraine from insolvency, enabled the implementation of the basic public tasks of the state, and obliged the Ukrainian authorities to implement the reforms required by donors.
