Summary/Abstract: The issue related to the decision-making process is one of the most important in the life of humans, societies and organizations. Decision-making is becoming more and more diffi cult and complex, this applies to both personal decisions related to individual choices and institutional decisions related to the management of organizations. People’s personal decisions are very important, but institutional decisions have a special dimension because they determine the successes or failures of many people, entire organizations (institutions) and the nation. When analyzing the structure of the decision-making process, information plays a very important role in its construction. At each stage of the decision-making process, apart from the moment of making a choice, the information available to the decision-maker is of key importance. Information is the basis of every decision-making model. Information, which is a valuable resource of every organization, has measurable value and is constantly exposed to many threats. Therefore, ensuring the security of information held should be a priority in organizational manage- ment. An indispensable advantage of implementing and maintaining an information security management system is the ability to ensure the continuity of the organization’s operations in a crisis situation. As a result of the digital revolution, the organization has been developing channels for obtaining data processed for decision-making purposes for several years. Ensuring IT security is extremely important. The organization must remain constantly ready to detect threats and respond to security incidents. The task of the Red Team is to enable managers (decision-makers) to get out of their comfort zone by discrediting existing mental and procedural templates that have been created or not modifi ed for years. Red Team are specialists who simulate advanced and persistent threats within Red Teaming that may occur against the organization. Team involvement is particularly valuable for mature organizations with highly developed security practices, providing valuable information and adequate preparation for possible threats. What are Red Teams and what benefi ts can they bring to the decision-making process? The aim of the article is to present the importance of the Red Team as organizational support for the decision-making process, i.e. a team that is supposed to think and act in order to protect the organization’s activities and minimize potential losses, i.e. weak points in systems, procedures and infrastructure. While carrying out preliminary research, the authors assumed that Red Team systems would fi nd increasingly wider use in management processes, primarily in decision-making systems. On this basis, the desirability and necessity of introducing new systemic solutions for the eff ective use of information systems in management were indicated. The content presented in this article was developed with the usage of theoretical research methods, from which a critical analysis of the subject, analysis of internet sources as well as the method of analysis, synthesis, generalization and inference were derived.
