Summary/Abstract: In this study, we aim to identify the syntagmatic particularities (defining realisation, type of relationship, concrete mode of syntactic relationship manifestation) and paradigmatic particularities (substitution class or realisers) of the subject complement in contemporary Romanian, in order to provide a monography of this syntactic function. The focus will be on problematic aspects that have repercussions on syntactic analysis. The pursued objective has didactic values; hence the exposition is limited to the core (the sum of constants) of current theoretical approaches.
