Summary/Abstract: In the Late Antique period, the Caucasus region became a battleground between the Byzantine and Sassanian empires. In the 6th century, the tension between the two great empires reached its peak as they overcame their internal problems and pursued outward-oriented policies. The Byzantines and Sassanids wanted to dominate the Caucasian regional powers. These aspirations led to the Lazic War (541-562), which lasted for 21 years. The Lazic War is a subject that needs to be researched from political, military, diplomatic and social perspectives. In line with the socio-political conditions in the Caucasus geography and other factors, the Alan and Hun warriors, stood out with their dynamic warrior character, actively participated in the struggle within the armies of the two empires. In this study, the characteristics of the Alan and Hun warriors, the role they played in the Lazic War, Byzantine and Sassanid efforts to form alliances with local forces in the region and the traces left by the Alan and Hun warriors in the Byzantine and Sassanid military systems have been evaluated in line with the sources.
