Summary/Abstract: After the First World War, the situation in Arabia underwent major changes and Ibn Saud became the most dominant figure in Arabia, controlling almost the entire Peninsula. Imam Yahya, on the other hand, had completely established his influence and power in Yemen, and only the Emirate of Asir had to accept Saudi sovereignty. Since Ibn Saud and Imam Yahya claimed ownership rights over this important emirate, a serious dispute arose between the two states. Hassan Idrisi, the Emir of Asir, rebelled against Ibn Saud in 1933 and when forces were sent against him, he took refuge with Imam Yahya. The Imam, who did not surrender the Emir to Ibn Saud, also occupied the Najran valley, which was under Ibn Saud. When the negotiations to resolve the issue did not yield any results, Ibn Saud started a military campaign to resolve the dispute. A onemonth military operation resulted in Ibn Saud’s victory and the Treaty of Taif was signed between the two sides. In this study, in which British and Ottoman archive documents, as well as Arab sources and press material, were used, the causes and consequences of the dispute between Hejaz and Yemen and its repercussions in Turkey were tried to be elucidated and evaluated.
