PREZENT ŞI PERSPECTIVE ÎN MEDIUL DE SECURITATE GLOBAL
PRESENT AND PROSPECTIVE IN THE GLOBAL SECURITY ENVIRONMENT

Summary/Abstract: The global security environment has showed new evolutions during the first decade of the current millennium, determined, especially by a series of factors, such as globalization, resource crises, uncontrolled spreading of technologies, and, mostly, the development of the terrorism, favored by the exacerbation of the religious extremism. Facing the threats to their security, states have chosen different courses of action, the positioning under the umbrella of security organizations and partnerships being the most used attitudes. From the analyses of the geopolitical and geostrategic environment, it results that the globalization of the threats cannot be countered only through the common security effort of the democratic nations. Also, we can notice that the time of unipolarity is going to end, concomitantly with the manifestation, in these areas, of the personality of some countries, such as China or Russia.
