Summary/Abstract: Purpose – To understand the nature of the relationship between creative personality traits and job performance and to clarify the effect of the mediating role of psychological empowerment in this relationship. Method – The research was applied to 292 people working in businesses operating in the manufacturing sector. Data was collected via online survey and face-to-face survey via Google Form. The data of the research were collected with the "Creative Personality Traits Scale", "Individual Job Performance Scale", "Spreitzer's Psychological Empowerment Scale". The data obtained were subjected to confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson Correlation analysis and structural equation modeling to examine multiple effects. SPSS V.26 and AMOS package programs were used for statistical analysis. Findings – According to the analysis results, it was determined that there were statistically significant and positive relationships between creative personality and job performance, creative personality and psychological empowerment, and psychological empowerment and job performance. The basic hypothesis that psychological empowerment has a mediating effect on the effect of creative personality traits on job performance was supported. Discussion – The research makes a unique contribution to the literature as it examines for the first time the mediating role of psychological empowerment in the effect of creative personality traits on job performance. Proving the hypotheses has a guiding value for both other researchers and practitioners. The research can be replicated in different sectors using the same model.
