Summary/Abstract: This study aims to investigate the potential relationship between organisational dissent and job alienation perceptions of current employees in the public sector. In particular, the study aims to determine whether such a relationship exists, to identify the dimensions of organisational opposition that affect job alienation, and to assess whether job alienation behaviour differs significantly across demographic factors. Data were collected from 307 employees actively working in the public sector in Erzincan province through a questionnaire. The collected data were analysed using statistical software packages SPSS 24 and AMOS 17. According to the results, there is a significant negative relationship between vertical dissent and alienation, while there is a significant positive relationship between horizontal dissent and alienation. In addition, according to the difference analyses, it was revealed that job alienation varied significantly according to gender, marital status and age. Tukey test results show that there is a higher level of alienation among male employees, married employees and middle-aged employees. However, no significant difference was observed in job alienation according to educational level and working hours. Organisational opposition can be managed in the best way in public institutions; alienation from work can be prevented by turning horizontal opposition behaviours into vertical opposition behaviours.
