Summary/Abstract: Based on recent research into the correspondence and poetic works of Ioannes Dantiscus(1485–1548), the article discusses the activities of this eminent humanist, diplomat, andbishop in the service of the Jagiellons in the field of artistic patronage, as well as the use and collection of works of art. It juxtaposes Dantiscus’s surviving images in the form of oil portraits,woodcuts, and medals.
