Summary/Abstract: Prupose - Employees create their own social networks within the organization different reasons While these networks have the potential to positively affect employees' motivations and performances, they may also have the potential to lead to excluded employees and behavior that may be harmful to the organization. It was thought that people who could not belong to a certain group would enter into a negative emotional state and this would make organizational deviation behavior inevitable. Based on this; the purpose of study is to investigate individuals' reasons for social networking at work, their emotional states when they are outside the network, and how the relationships in these social networks are reflected in work. Design/methodology/approach – For this purpose, purposeful and convenience sampling method was used. Data were collected by face-to-face in-depth interviews. Inductive analysis method was used to analyze the data. Findings - As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the socio-cultural characteristics of the participants (age, marital status, educational status and monthly income) caused differences in social networking and organizational deviance behaviors, and that negative emotional state was especially effective in the deviance behavior of the individual outside the network. As a result of the research, the deviation behaviors of the participants were observed in the following order: deviation related to political behavior, deviation related to production, deviation related to property, and deviation related to personal aggression behavior. Discussion - Negative mood plays an important role in the effect of social networks on organizational deviation. Hotel managers should understand the emotional states of employees outside the network and pay particular attention to all forms of communication, managerial behavior and managerial processes that may cause emotional and behavioral disorders within the organization and develop solution suggestions. When employees' negative emotions are recognized and necessary precautions are taken, employee deviance behavior will be prevented.
