Summary/Abstract: The sustainability of development achieved until the beginning of 2020, when tourism was one of the fastest-growing sectors globally, has been interrupted, and a year later, the reality is different. Creating new strategies and finding new approaches to adaptation in response to new challenges is a challenge for the management of any tourist destination. Given these conditions, the challenges facing Plovdiv aimed at increasing the competitiveness and effectiveness of the tourist product destination Plovdiv through full use of the available cultural, historical and natural resources, improvement of the information and advertising environment, diversification of the tourist product and increasing the quality of the services offered, positioning and marketing of the destination.
