Summary/Abstract: The international scientific conference on "Current Issues in Securing Persons and Property in Criminal Proceedings" was held on March 21, 2024, at the Faculty of Law, Charles University. Organized by the Department of Criminal Law, the conference featured prominent legal scholars and practitioners who discussed various contentious and current topics. The discussions covered issues such as detention and its alternatives, participation of persons in criminal proceedings, state liability for damages in criminal cases, and challenges in securing virtual currencies and digital evidence. Comparative insights were provided by Slovak colleagues. The conference was divided into four blocks, each addressing different aspects of securing persons and property. Key speakers included Prof. Pavel Šámal, Prof. Jozef Čentéš, and Prof. Vladimír Smejkal, among others. The event concluded with a call for continued scientific research and collaboration.
