Summary/Abstract: The present paper devotes some space to the period forerunning Gjergj Kastrioti's war and the following centuries, a very much discussed event among the local and foreign scholars. The quarrel between the Arbanense bishopric and the bishopric of Lezha (Alexiense-Lexiensi) about the appurtenance of a series of churches pretended or contested from both sides and for the history of this bishopric itself is here reported.
