MASTER AUTHORS: AN INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR DEMET EKMEKÇİOĞLU

Summary/Abstract: Born in 1975 in Istanbul, Demet Ekmekçioğlu graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History Geography, Department of Archaeology. She participated in archaeological excavations in Antalya Karain cave and Belgium Scladina cave. Ekmekçioğlu, who later turned to writing and worked in the publishing sector, has published various articles, book reviews and interviews in newspapers and magazines. Demet Ekmekçioğlu, who works on children's literature by combining her knowledge of archaeology with her writing skills, has realised her first series book titled "Mysterious History Game" under the archaeological consultancy of Prof. Dr. Harun Taşkıran, Head of the Department of Archaeology at Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History-Geography. Demet Ekmekçioğlu, who continues her studies in Istanbul, is a member of the board of directors of the "Association of Children and Youth Publications", which represents the national section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People, 1953), an international organisation based in Switzerland.
