Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of job satisfaction and job burnout of instrumental music teachers in fine arts secondary schools. The general survey model was used in this study, which is a descriptive research. The population of the study consisted of instrumental teachers in the fine arts secondary schools (760), the sample consisted of instrumental teachers who responded to the scales (478). The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) was used to determine the burnout level of instrumental teachers and the Job Satisfaction Inventory developed by Kuzgun, Sevim and Hamamcı (1999) was used to determine the level of professional job satisfaction. In this study, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test, correlation and regression analyses were performed. The instrumentalists' age, gender, marital status, educational status, professional seniority and individual instrument types were examined in relation to the sub-dimensions of the Burnout Scale. The relationship between job satisfaction and job burnout was determined and regressions on job satisfaction and job burnout were found. Gender and marital status are not variables that affect the emotional exhaustion and personalisation scores of instrumentalists. On the other hand, gender, marital status and age variables do have a significant effect on personal satisfaction scores. The educational status variable has no significant effect on emotional exhaustion and sense of personal success. Professional seniority and the type of individual instrument have a significant effect on the sense of personal success. As the professional satisfaction of instrumentalists increases, the level of emotional exhaustion decreases and the sense of personal success increases. It was found that instrumentalists' job burnout significantly predicted their job satisfaction.
