Summary/Abstract: Since the 19th century, the change in the political situation has been changing in Azerbaijan, which mostly affected the lifestyle and culture of many countries such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Iran. In Azerbaijan, Basgal “Kelaghayi” were taking an important place in outwear and headwear of Tarakamas. Basgal is the province of Ismayilli, Azerbaijan. It was one of the capital cities of historic Hauz mahal. Basgal was also famous in Azerbaijan for being the center of silk production. Historically, Basgal was providing summer resorts and Fitdagh Castle with silk. Patterns of Basgal “Kelaghayi” are utilized in the decoration of women’s headwear. Nowadays, Kelaghayi is also used in the design of handkerchiefs for men. In the statement, the “Kelaghayi” patterns will be widely discussed. This paper will further discuss how the “Kelaghayi” patterns were used in the past, their present production and their usage.
