Summary/Abstract: On the basis of several documentary testimonies, different interpretative ap- proaches were used to shed light on the lives of the members of apparently the same family of a higher social class in Bar. Unpublished and published archival records, their interpretation and re-reading, historiographic knowledge, contextualization of symbols and texts, enabled the stratification and expansion of knowledge about the late Middle Ages in the southern Adriatic. Personalities to whom research attention has been devoted, firstly by describing the content of documentary sources, are re- corded in explicit filiation according to the father. Situations about which written traces have been preserved primarily indicate the public government’s attitude and behavior towards them, their commercial entrepreneurship, but also their awareness, forms of piety and spiritual preoccupations. In relation to this, the circle of people with whom they were in contact, the intellectual and literacy culture that character- ized them, the loca sacra that were important to them are revealed. Preserved writ- ings related to the reality of the Guliermis are also valuable for philological research, and the reflections of several small times represent precious pieces to the mosaic of understanding the social and history of mentality, that is, the spirit of an era.
