Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the development of the criminal law of the Church after the publication of the Code of Canon Law in 1983. It reflects on the reasons for the emergence of new criminal offences. It traces the emergence and development of extra-canonical norms, the evolution of the definition of particularly serious crimes by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the subsequent incorporation of the newly created norms into the amendment of Book VI of the Code. It shows the new arrangement of the matter of criminal law in the amendment of Book VI of the Code and the intentions of the legislator.
