Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the Polish-language press for children and youth published in the years 1919–1937 in Harbin, Manchuria. Its aim is to trace the Polish emigrants’ ideas – especially those reflected by the young generation in the press – regarding their community’s national identity and its place on the world map of countries and nations. The article approaches the subjects of raising children in Polish tradition in a multicultural town in Asia, the developing relations between the colony and the homeland and, finally, the project of patriotism promoted by some young Polish people in order to take advantage of their place of residence for the sake of their country.
