Summary/Abstract: This article describes the functioning of a Latin grammar school (so-called ‘particular’ school) in Kouřim and its links to the Charles University of Prague in the period of 1547–1622. The author investigates the economic situation of the school, its staff, the students, and their relations to the townspeople. Explored is also teacher and student mobility, the school’s relationship with the university, and the school’s alumni. New findings have been confronted with previous research.
