Romantic relationships of people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Summary/Abstract: The text concerns the issue of romantic relationships among people with ADHD. People with such characteristics are at risk of co-occurring numerous problems, including: occurrence of accompanying disorders, breaking the law, prematurely entering into intimate relationships, unfavorable educational and professional path, addictions. In the article, the author analyzes various aspects of romantic relationships of people with ADHD, including: entering into relationships, their durability and quality, including differences in the shape of intimacy and sexual life compared to the general population. Knowledge about the specific aspects of relationships mentioned above may constitute the basis for targeted support for people with ADHD and their partners. This support is needed as part of the prevention of the above-mentioned problems related to ADHD.
