Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to outline the phenomenon of e-commerce and the prevailing trends in it in the era of personalization and mobile communication. The first part of the paper presents the history of e-commerce and mobile commerce. The presentation phenomenon makes it possible to note a strong correlation between the development of information society and e-commerce. The next part of the article identifies barriers, opportunities, and directions in the development of e-commerce and m-commerce, which became the starting point for an overview of the dominant trends in this branch of the economy. An important thread in this article is the consideration of seniors in e-commerce. The paper concludes with a summary, with conclusions indicating potential directions for further research and observations, including issues related to the collection of user data and the impact of mobile technologies on the lives of modern people.
