Summary/Abstract: The article presents issues related to one of the challenges facing venture capitalists: the need to standardize the processes of reporting environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) aspects. Attention was paid to the essence of the ESG reporting problem in the private equity environment. The considerations were preceded by the characteristics of the funds’ activities and a description of their investment process. The necessity of implementing standards for reporting ESG factors into the activities of funds and their portfolio companies was pointed out, which is of interest to all stakeholders in the private equity market. The described issue is important because private equity firms that take ESG factors into account when making investments have a greater potential to achieve higher returns, while reducing their exposure to risk. One can conclude that the interest in standardization is growing exponentially and is becoming an indispensable part of any private equity transaction.
