Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the spatial differentiation of economic developmentat county level in Poland in the period 2008-2021. The data used in the analysis come from theLocal Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office (Statistics Poland). The first part of the paper isdevoted to the analysis of spatial and temporal diversification of such variables as unemploymentrate, labour productivity, wages, number of registrations and de-registrations per employed personin counties. It is worth noting that the variable taking into account migration has not been takeninto account in previous studies addressing a similar research problem. The main empirical part ofthe paper focuses on the determination of the taxonomic index of economic development of thecounties and its spatial analysis, as well as the examination of the impact of migration on theeconomic development of the analysed regions. This paper proposes four hypotheses. The first andsecond relate to the highest and lowest levels of economic development among the counties. Thethird refers to the minor relationship between migration and the economic development of theanalysed units. The last one refers to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on theeconomic development of the counties between 2008 and 2021.
