Determinants of Career Development for Women from Generations Y and Z

Summary/Abstract: Career management for women is a significant aspect of the contemporary labormarket, requiring consideration of various determinants that influence professionaldevelopment. The aim of this text was to identify factors affecting the careers of women fromGeneration Y and Z. The study utilized the Computer-Assisted Web Interview (CAWI)technique, which allows for data collection through online surveys. A total of 125 women fromGenerations Y and Z participated in the study. Basic statistical measures, such as mean, median,mode, and coefficient of variation, were used to verify the hypotheses. To test the statisticalsignificance of differences between groups, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests wereapplied. The study was conducted to thoroughly understand the factors influencing women'scareer development and to analyze how different demographic variables may shape theseoutcomes. The most significant determinants of career development for Generation Y womenwere problem-solving skills, motivation and engagement in work, and the ability to handle stress. For women from Generation Z, work experience, determination in achieving set goals,and motivation and engagement in work were more influential. Statistically significantgenerational differences were observed in the perception of the importance of work experiencebetween Generations Y and Z, as well as in interpersonal and communication skills acrossdifferent professional activities.
