Summary/Abstract: The town of Comăneşti in Bacău county, which dates back to Neolithic times, has undergone numerous transformations over the years, transformations observed either from one day to the next or years apart. Among all the personalities who made the city’s name known, the Ghika family stood out the most, a wealthy family that brought major changes to the city for the better, supporting and developing culture. Several schools, libraries, clubs for children appeared that encourage their talents, even if today most of them have been abolished. The cultural evolution was not the only one that was carefully observed, the economic one was also added, which was helped in the first row of Bazinul Carbonifer, to begin with, then other enterprises appeared as C.P.L. (Wood Processing Plant/Combinatul de Prelucrare a Lemnului), originally known as C.I.L. (Wood Industrialization Plant/Combinatul de Industrializare a Lemnului). As we can see, the forestry industry was the most developed branch of the economy in our area.
