Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the Russian perception of time in linguistic and cultural terms. The analysed linguistic data prove that the basic plane of time conceptualisation in Russian is space, and that cyclicality and linearity are the two alternative ways of establishing an analogy between time and space. According to Edward Hall’s typology of time dimensions, Russian culture is characterised by polychronicity.
