Summary/Abstract: The demographic of foreigners in Poland is expanding, notably including young individuals who enroll in Polishlanguage courses prior to their university studies or as part of their academic curriculum. This article examines theinterest levels of learners of Polish as a foreign language at the B2 and C1 proficiency levels in the socio-politicaltopics outlined in Programy nauczania języka polskiego jako obcego. Poziomy A1-C2 (the Curricula for Teaching Polishas a Foreign Language. Levels A1-C2). The study elucidates which topics are important to the youth preparing for anextended stay in Poland by analyzing their assessment of various Polish language subjects. The analysis of collecteddata reveals that topics related to employment, education, and modern developments such as the Internet, are of paramount importance and engagement to foreign youth. In contrast, cultural and political topics seem to elicit lessinterest or appear indifferent to the learners. Notably, no topic received a mean grade lower than 3.5/7; they expressedinterest across the whole spectrum of the Polish language topics. As autonomous users of the language and youngadults, they recognize the necessity for extensive communicative competence in matters most present in everyday life.
