Summary/Abstract: Images or the ideas of God handed down to us by older generations, parents, culture, even the religion or society in which we live sometimes lose their vitality and do not help us in the experience of God, who has revealed himself as the God of life. However, a new approach can also mean sometimes that a person has to leave behind inherited ideas or fixations on the forms of God from the past, which prevent him from approaching to God. And thus, leaving behind old images can make room for new ones that will be more in the line with the current experience of faith. The question we want to address is how to implement this transformation so that it is a shift for faith, but not a loss of it. One of the approaches that could be used to grasp this problem is to take a closer look at the idea of abandoning the belief in the “God of the fathers” of the theologian Joseph Moingt, which could be a theological starting point for gaining a new approach to God.
