Summary/Abstract: This research explores the philosophical principles that form the basis of an independent curriculum by highlighting elements such as freedom to learn, diversity, equality, and student-centred learning. This research also compares the concept of an independent curriculum and other schools of educational philosophy, such as perennialist, essentialist, and progressivist, to describe their unique characteristics. This research uses a literature study. The data collected in this research came from books, research journals, news, and online articles. The data collection technique used in this research is documentation, and the data analysis technique used is content analysis. This research shows that the Merdeka Curriculum, the influence of schools of educational philosophy, such as progressivism, perennialism, essentialism, constructivism, and the philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara, have an essential role. The integration of academic philosophy and the philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara into the Independent Curriculum creates a holistic whole. This approach not only produces an intellectually intelligent generation but also creates individuals who are competitive, creative and have strong moral values.
