Bandits from the border area of the Danube Delta

Summary/Abstract: After the 1st World War, the Danube Delta was the ideal place for numerous bandit attacks. This fact also due the weak paramilitary organization of the area. The current study aims to bring to light the actions of the bandits in the border area of the Danube Delta from the inter-war period. There were several other writings on this subject, but without bringing evidence from the sources of the time. The novelty of this study consists in bringing this evidence. The directions of this study are based on the activity of the bandits from the border area of the Danube Delta and the nearby area: Cucoş (Gheorghi Stroe), Sidor Beloiu, Anton Beloiu, Gherasim; and also on the efforts made by the authorities to catch them. The victim identification is a key element of our investigation
