Summary/Abstract: Actions to prevent the spread of pathogenic microorganisms are inextricably linked to medical activities and health services, they are indispensable in the activities of beauty and hairdressing salons, in agriculture, food production and animal breeding, the food industry, and during an epidemic or pandemic, they also apply to the general public. In addition to the benefits that such activities bring to health, one should be aware that the use of measures to protect against infection may also be associated with adverse effects for people who use them. The article discusses the risks associated with the use of chemical disinfectants and face masks protecting the respiratory system against the penetration of viruses.
