Summary/Abstract: A main goal in the study of Bulgarian language and literature is the development of communicative competence. In the Bulgarian language classes in the 5th grade, we work towards the formation of skills for the construction of various written texts, including composition and description. students' thinking. The subject of research is the methodological aspects when working on this written student text, and the object is the development of communicative competence and the formation of skills for creating a description. The research work has the following objectives: to determine to what extent the students are able to construct a connected text according to the task; how well they can describe a particular object; whether they can edit the created descriptions. Creating this type of essay description develops students' creative thinking.
