Summary/Abstract: The article investigates the possibilities of applying the ideas of the great Russian psychologist Andrey Vladimirovich Brushlinsky (1933-2002) about the problem-based approach, presented for the first time in his book “The Psychology of Thinking and Problematics in Education” (1983). Based on a historiographical review of the state of the matter, the authors conclude that these ideas are still relevant today. It is shown how they are discussed and used by modern scientists studying the problem in education
