Summary/Abstract: The article examines the possibilities of continuity and original views regarding the method of R. Descartes' rationalism and its application in the psychology of the 20th century, by two representatives of the Moscow Scientific School of S. L. Rubinstein - the Russian psychologist Andrey Vladimirovich Brushlinski (1933-2002) and the Bulgarian psychologist Dimitar Dimitrov Vassilev (1933-2010). It is concluded that both emphasize the strengths and weaknesses of Cartesianism in psychology, but consider that the method of rationalism is extremely important for its development.
