Summary/Abstract: In November 2023, the history of the torpedo stars (VTAp and VTM) from Romania will end when they will be taken out of service - VTM 202 "Smeul" and VTM 204 "Vijelia".This news, posted by the Mangalia Romanian Naval League, regarding the decommissioning of the last torpedo boats in the Navy's equipment, made me think of the family of these Romanian battleships, which passed on their names, in part and their missions, from the generation in the generation, joining the tradition of this weapon.Convinced of the truth that you are truly dead when the last person who bears the memory of your existence is gone, a statement that can also be extended to some "objects" symbolic of the existence of those who have lived most of their lives in close connection with them, I thought a brief history of torpedo stars was necessary. This, perhaps, will preserve them in the memory of posterity, because the writing will be permanent, for sure, as long as it remains...
