Summary/Abstract: One of the most important problems in the novels of Kurt Vonnegut is the problem of interaction between the individual and the society alienated from him. The article examines the variety of existing models of existence of the twentieth century, which the writer tries to comprehend through the prism of human history and contemporary consciousness, which is under the influence of scientific and technological progress.
