Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary world digital platforms are used for numerous activities, among which is seeking an intimate partner, since they provide many opportunities. The analysed literature on the topic shows that using digital platforms has a significant influence on intimacy and communication. The topic has not been studied in the Bulgarian context, so the aim of the research presented in the article is to show the different socio-economic factors, influencing digital intimacy practices of young people. The methodology is based on a conducted quantitative study among 2461 young people in the country. Results show that platforms are used predominantly by higher educated Bulgarian youth living in the cities, more actively by children of divorced/separated parents and by people with homosexual/bisexual orientation. The digital resources are used by people with a different demographic profile to find a partner, which can be related to freedom of action, but also with categorizing people and limiting them.
