Summary/Abstract: By studying the “genres of discourse” (Bakhtin, 1979) that fill the “social space” (Bourdieu, 1979) of Moroccan live streaming, we can understand how the actors perpetuate gender inequalities and maintain power relationships. To this end, we mobilise Bourdieu’s “social space” approach, as implemented by Coavoux, in order to demonstrate that online gaming worlds are fields where intrinsic cultural hierarchies are established.
