Summary/Abstract: Max Weber defines power as "the probability that an actor will be able to impose his will in a social relationship, despite possible resistance" (Weber, 1947). Léonora Miano gives a voice to the subalterns in her work in order to rewrite African history. A new discourse is thus constructed in her narrative through a hybrid form of writing that aims to renegotiate the place of women and their relationship to power in African societies. Adopting a systemic approach, our aim is to demonstrate how a new social contract takes shape in L. Miano's novels.
