Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author researches the historical and ethnographic strata of the Čakavian novel Zvoneća svojni, by Franjo Matetić. In a series of works that have emerged inspired by the work mentioned, this paper relates particularly to the description of the life of the former inhabitants of Zvoneća and their stance towards the structure of the novel and its ideologemic structure. It is shown that a stroll of sorts through the year is the basic structure of the narratological construction of the novel in which original elements of a lastingly rich and integral culture find their place. The complex relations between reality and musings, and memory and memories are implemented around the author-narrator-personage axis.
