Summary/Abstract: The author based on his personal experience brings the testimony on the area of Minoa palace Knossos situated on the Greek island of Crete. Through a description of several significant works of fine art dating from 2 500- 1150 B.C. found preserved in palace, he is trying to find the evidence on theatrical elements of that period. By summarizing several works of theatrical historians, inclusive of available theatrical encyclopedias, he comes to the conclusion that even though the official beginning of European theatrical culture is considered to be 6 -5 century B.C. The author presumes the archeological research realized not sooner than in 20 century provides the sufficient number of evidence to prove the beginning of Greek meaningful and organized theatrical culture older by approximately thousand years. In this sense he suggests the Minoa period of the ancient Greek civilization to be regarded as the beginning of the European theatrical culture.
