Polish Musicians in Interwar Paris

Summary/Abstract: This article is a review of Renata Sucho-wiejko’s book Muzyczny Paryż à la polonaise w okresie międzywojennym. Artyści – wyda-rzenia – konteksty [Musical Paris à la polonaise in the Interwar Period. Artists – Events –Contexts], which is the first comprehensive and richly sourced study concerning Polishmusicians in Paris between 1918 and 1939. The researcher approaches the subject fromseveral perspectives: their artistic activities and presence in Parisian musical life, thepresentation of selected institutions in which they operated, as well as French musiccriticism reviewing Polish performers and composer’s works.
