Summary/Abstract: Urban vandalism is a complex and multifactorial phenomenon that profoundly affects the aesthetic appearance of the urban environment and social interactions within communities. Acts of vandalism, such as unauthorized graffiti, damage to public and private property, or other forms of destruction, create not only visual disruption but also a deterioration of the sense of safety and belonging in public spaces. It is important to recognize that urban vandalism is not just a local or regional problem but is omnipresent worldwide, with different variations and intensities depending on the cultural, social, and economic context. For example, in some communities, vandalism may be associated with broader issues such as poverty, lack of access to education, or unemployment, while in others, it may be influenced by factors such as local culture, urban planning policies, or the level of community engagement.
