Summary/Abstract: The article aims to draw attention to non-material aspects related to archives, especially community archives. Based on the analysis of literature (especially foreign litera- ture) and interviews conducted with community archivists in 2015–2018, the author briefly discusses issues regarding the social impact of community archives and the affective impact of archives on recipients, donors and archivists, also raising the issue of vicarious trauma.
