Summary/Abstract: In the area of scientific research conducted today in the field of Arabic and Islamic studies (mainly in the sphere of Western culture), there is no shortage of hypotheses and theories that are both innovative and controversial, constantly creating new challenges for followers of Christianity and Islam who are open to dialogue. On the one hand, this process is intensifying with the growing interest in Islam in research centres in the West, and on the other hand, it is taking on particular significance here and now for interreligious dialogue, when churches on our continent are faced with the growing presence of Muslims, which is changing the historical, cultural and religious situation of Europe, until recently dominated by Christianity. The article is an attempt to concisely present a number of new challenges for Christian-Muslim dialogue that emerge from selected, contemporary scientific research.
